On March 22, 2013 we had an excursion for school and they took us to this popular ski resort here in Austria called St. Anton. It was only an hour and a half bus ride from Innsbruck to St. Anton and we got to learn a bit about the resort and also tour the ski area. They took us up the gondola to one of the ski main areas where they have restuarants and places to rent ski equipment. We talked there for a bit about how many restaurants they have and how many people come through the resort. Then, we went to the very top of the mountain where we took lots of pictures because the view was fantastic. It was funny going up the gondola without going skiing, but I liked it. Skiing scares me a bit, so I was okay with just seeing the views and not going down the mountain. :)

St. Anton, 2 weeks late
I know, it's been way to long since I've updated my blog, but better late than never. ;)

Once we came down the mountain we got back on the bus and it took us to a local bar/restaurant called Mooserwirt where the school paid for us to get 2 free drinks, which was amazing! This place has all its alcohol come up through taps so they do not have wine bottles around or beer bottles. It was very interesting watching the wine coming out of the spout instead of coming out of the bottle. When we arrived it was not too packed, but when it was time to leave it was so hard to get out through the crowd. This bar gets so packed with skiers and so people don't get too ridiculously drunk, the bar closes at 8pm, which I think is an amazing idea. We got a tour of the downstairs area where all the beer, wine and spirits are kept. I was amazed at how they keep up with everything; the system is so advanced it's incredible!

We then got back on the bus and headed back towards Innsbruck. It was a very successful day and it was school related. I love going to school abroad. :)
